Hi,
coming on holiday to Ireland soon and i've managed to prise my wife away from her native Laois for a while, but i need a bit of help please.
We have a 13foot sailing dingy with outboard.
How can i get decent forcasts with out the net and withoiut vhf please ? Are there any phonelines to ring for the inshore forecast ? Can you just ring alentia coatsguard and ask for a quick forecast, i do that here but can i in Ireland.
Does anyone know of any slipways near the North end of Lough Corrib ? I can lift it in if i have to but a slip would be better.
Is there a slipway near to Inch as well and would anyone give me any advice please as to what bait or tackle to use, where abots to go near Inch etc.
Lastly if the advice is different what baits, artificials etc near Derrynane bay and Waterville please ?
Thanks for any advice.
Pete

Just spotted this one.
You can ring Met Eireann for a forecast on these numbers (premium rates):
http://www.met.ie/about/weatherdial/default.aspIf you are near a teletext TV check Airtel page 160
You will get a sea area forecast at around 1255 on Radio 1 I think there’s also a sea area forecast at 1755
Lough Corrib – Is that one of those lake things?
There are others more qualified than me to advise on the Inch/Dingle area. Try a PM to SeanP.
