GPS User manual search

Hi.
I bought a new boat today (Shetland family four)
It came with an MLR FX312XC GPS Unit. But there wasn't a user manual with the GPS.
Has anyone owned one, Or can tell me where to get a user manual for it.
I still have my Lowrance 5150c Chartplotter from my last boat.
Is there any benifits in using both units on the boat?
I was thinking of keeping the chartplotter (cus its new) + Selling the GPS.
But without a user manual it may be hard to sell.
Any info would be great :D

I'm guessing that the older unit is a GPS system only... It will show you GPS co-ordinates, but does not have any mapping. :?:

If this is the case, it is not worth that much anyway. It could be used as a backup to you Lowrance plotter, that provided you with a map overlay, which is what you need anyway.

MLR were a French compnay taken over by the Thales Navigation who are now Magellan.

It might be worth contacting them via their website - http://www.magellangps.com/

I had no success however when trying to find the manuals for planetseafishing.com.

I have a 412 which is similar in my boat although it's long demoted to a spare for DSC use on the second DSC VHF now by newer chart plotters it's still a good little unit

Here is a LINK to the user manual for the 312 / 412, its the last one down on that page, it's a very simple unit to use, enjoy :)
