The chances of striking oil are fairly slim to begin with, but I hope they do - the bigger the oil field the better. It would be a badly needed boost to the economy. The government will get royalities and there would be many ancillary jobs created during the exploration and development phases.
But alas I would be very doubtful if anything will be discovered from the one eploration well.
