Fences at Clogga Strand, Arklow.

Sat May 16, 2009 8:14 am

Hi,

This could be an old one, but does anybody have concrete information (not opinion) regarding the fences on the coastline around from Clogga Point heading towards Kilmichael.

I am wondering are they erected with full planning permission?

Please, no opinion just fact regarding replies.

Hi-maybe this is not an answer-but I passed this fences few times last year, and every time had a problem with landowner-but the next beach, 1st after fences, where is no different acces on it, is very good spot for decent size bass. I'm also wonder what is the legislation about this fences, b'cause I asked few peoples and them opinions was different.

i spoke to a local and he told me to pass it
a woman had it erected and it appears to be illegal and is a bane of contention with all the locals who walk there

Thank's all for replying. The women that is mentioned, does she have a german accent? Also these fences have been up a long time by the look of them. I know the story at Brittas Bay in detail. Has this landowner acted within the law or is the situation the same as exists at Brittas Bay? Again, and this is important, fact not opinion.
