how quickly we all forget our harbours and piers used to be alive with fish not just mini.s as a child going to howth harbour meant hours of enjoyment pollock up to 6/7 lb you only drop your rod over the wall and the bait was gone dun laire the same good codling .collimore harbour bullock all full of good size fish not anymore and if these places are going to be raped of juveinile fish stocks all that leaves is crabs and blennys that dont make good soup im only talking about these harbours as they were 25 yrs ago thats how long it has took to wipe out all the big ones it wont take 2 yrs to wipe out all the small ones but we can argue about catch and release all day as i have stated i take fish home but all a certain size and by fishing large hooks i dont injure that many small fish the days of lads going out in boats and catching 6/7lb codling and pollock are long gone in dublin bay dont mind in the harbours and if you doubt me just ask your father he will remember
