I am reading a book called the The Sport Fisherman (Lidl best) that the other half picked up for me and in the knot tying section there is mention of a think called a SIMPL. It does not explain what it is just gives a couple of diagrams of how to use it. It appears to be a wire onto which you can hang a hook and/or tie-wind the line without tying a knot thus ensuring the line breaking strain remains at 100%.
Has anyone out there heard of this, it's probably out there under another name as the book appears to be a direct translation from German.
When I locate the camera I'll post a pic or two.
Anyone heard of a SIMPL

Anyone heard of a SIMPL
Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
The worst time to have a heart attack is while playing charades! Specially if your friends are no good at it.

I think there were some of those little things in some of the boxes of bits and pieces that Lidl had at the time, I never used them myself though.

Re: Anyone heard of a SIMPL
i have used them, they are very strong alright
when i got them i did not know what they were for so used them to connect the lead to the rig
they are probably not great if using worm bait but would work fine with other baits
only got the book The Sport Fisherman, very good reading, lots of information, well worth the money
