Boat MA This weekend.

#1 Post by petekd »

In kilmore quay representing SAI this year are Donal Domeney, Mick Fitz, Damien Doran and myself. Some interesting rule changes this year, hopefully they have the desired results.

Best of luck to all competitors and hopefully we have a weekend to be proud of. Heres to calm seas, light winds, tight lines and a good draw :-)

Will try and keep JD informed as to how things are going.

Hands cut to bits, body aching, tackle box decimated.... No matter, had a cracking recovery from an appalling first session of about 45 percent to take 295 from 300 in the last 3 sessions and claim a slot in the fish offs against some tough opposition. :-)

Mixed day for donal yesterday which was unfortunate after a solid start. Fishing much better for us on second day, quota system made life difficult for me as all fish had a limit of ten put on them which given the nature of the ground we were fishing meant pursuing 1 pointers was pretty much all you could do to keep the card ticking over. Tried a number of approaches to raise different species but no joy so i stuck at the wrasse. 52 fish in the first session and 30 to 40 in the second was a busy day :-)

Very pleased with how things went, first session aside which unfortunately has been a feature of my boat match angling over the last year . Its great to test your mettle against the top lads and you can learn so much so fast. Mick and damien will surely echo this too with the long rod approach forming much of the discussion in the post comp analysis :-)

Thanks to martyn for the opportunity and roll on Cork for the fish offs :-)

Congrats also, yet again to the master himself, Heiko. Well done that man.

Yes Boy!
UP THE DEISE!!!!!!!

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.
