Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
Hi Teacher,
Good possibility I'll be down on the Friday night and was intending doing something similar as regards a spot of lure fishing with my friend down there. We'd be based around Cloghane, but could/would travel if you want some buddies for the session(s)....
You can let me know, not a 100% on the Friday yet, might stay the sat night instead, but I can let you know.
Cheers,
Lee
Hoping to make this myself too, found this on the net might be of some help? Any chance of Ray there?
The Northern side of the Cashen Estuary is reached by driving south past Ballybunion Golf Club and by passing the car park. Turn west on the beach and park your vehicle beside the dunes. There can be good surf fishing for bass when conditions are suitable, particularly on the extreme mouth of the estuary. The flooding tide and lugworm as bait are the best combination. Inside the estuary mouth and just below the car park, is excellent flounder fishing on the flooding tide with best results using crab bait.
Howaya Keith. No ray where we'll be im afraid. Standard small estuary fishing for flounders and bass. Some really good fish of each species to be had though.
Cheers Sean, I live in hope Hoping to get up the Shannon this Saturday to open the account! Keep ya posted.
So i guess the standard bass and flats bait of float fished bread crust will see my right? Fair enough, beats lookin for those mythical Peelers? I keep hearing about!
For anyone that wants to plug it into a sat nav, it's at 52.4872 N, 9.6770 W

Eh, flounder, an undersize turbot or two and few flounder. And some more flounder.
