Clonakilty rods at hand !!!!

Hello all,

Head'n clon way fri/sat/sunday and need some advice ? HOTSPOTS
Its all shore and look'n for some variety.
So any advice or pms welcome.

try ring for guilthead bream bass and flounder crab best bait but lug works as well u,can dig it there rosscarberry rocks behind pier u could pick up anything bay full of mullet

Remember that the Bass season is not opened until Saturday.

For starters make sure you bring plenty of crab.
Lug can be dug on the way out to Ring pier.

The main species in the estuaries will be Flounder, Bass and a lucky Gilthead.

Low water on Saturday is 10:15 and it is only a 3.7mt tide so that is ideal for estuary fishing.
I fished ring last month and had bass and flounder.
Fishing from low water up is best.
Park on the pier nearest to Clon and walk up tide, about 150mt, and fish before where the channel splits.
Casting out between the buoys will do fine. You’ll get about 2-3 hours before you path back is cut off otherwise its climb up the ditch to walk back the road. You’ll see what I mean when you get there.
Bass can be taken here too on a plug or spinner.
If you’re a mullet man the Rosscarbery is the spot.

One other MUST is a visit to Dan in the Halfway Angling 086 3357334 it’s about 6 miles after you turn onto the Bandon road. If you contact him he might be able to get some fresh crab for you.

Thanks for the tips Donal! yea, we are going after the Bass on Sat/Sun but wanna try for some plump flounder on the Friday. Hadn't even thought of the Gilthead bream, what is their preferred bait? Also is the pier nearest Clon, Ring pier itself? If so , I know it.

Find the roundabout on the Cork saie of Clon Ring is signposted its about 1.6 miles out the road

A back up after half tide could be Courtmacsherry or across the estuart to the bubben pier all within a 10 mile spin
