Hi lads , I am planning to have a go off Trawee beach early next week . Would appreciate advice on the best state of tide and , being really cheeky , best position ( perhaps by pm ) .
I'm hoping for turbot , flounder and coalies if they are still around but would settle for my first sea trout
I plan to go a couple of hundred metres to the West of the car park .
Many thanks
low tide to incoming tide is the best for me and i caught flounder, flounder, flounder nd seatrout but no turbo on lug tip with mackerel.hope this help,im planning to fish there this coming saturday.
3 hours before high and 2 hours after is the best I've found there. Avoid high tide it's impossible to fish. I usually keep to rocks on r/h/s and fish one close and at distance. We had a club comp there about six weeks ago and there were loads of small turbot caught mostly very close. It's probably too late for coalies but that beach can always throw up a surprise fish or two. It's not my favourite beach around Sligo but can fish well on its day.
