Ultima power steel or suffix tritanium are probably about the best lines for rough ground.
The worst lines are the prestretched ones like grauvel teklon gold and others that say they have a massive breaking strain to diameter ratio.

Hi Rog,
Over rough ground I have used :
Berkley Trilene, a little thick for stated breaking strain but tough as old boots.
Daiwa sensor, its cheap enough and tough, a little thick for BS.
Ultima Seastrike, another one that's cheap and cheerful, a little thick for the BS but cheap and does the job.
Prob not the best lines but ones I have used over the rough stuff - generally cheap and tough.

Suffix tritanium, good all round qualities, good knotting, good abrasion resistance and supple.

I used Red Ice before the Tritanium, no major problems with it but I find the tritanium beds into a multiplier much quicker than red Ice. Imho red ice can always blow up on the reel until it beds in nicely. No other criticisms of it though and I used it for years
