I'll be fishing the kilmuckridge sac comp sat 5-9. ballinoulart and morriscastle are the venues i tink. id be fairly much a novice and can make my own rigs just about. Just wondering how much bait would you want to bring? what kinda of bait would be best for these venues. What kinda rigs would you want? Just looking for ne info or guidance that ne body could share with me as ive never fished a comp before and dont really no the ins and outs, really looking forward to it and just want to enjoy it but not feel completely out of my depth.
Ne info would be greatly appreciated

Call into joe byrne in courtown angling centre on your way, he is a genius when fishing in that area. Very friendly and helpful. He does some good bait aswell.

you have time left in your appenticeship my bro.
there were competitions round there last week, the reports show that dabs, whitening, rockling, and coalies were on the menu, check the reports on the competition section then you know whats biteing and what to aim for.
try 3 hook flappers or clipdowns in case you"ve to get abit of distance with size 1 or 1/0 hooks but could go smaller
double pat, have 1 trace in the water and a spare 1 baited up ready, this saves time in between casts and keeps a bait in the water
time your casts, change to afresh bait every 10-15mins.
mix your baits round and make cocktails 1 bait alone mite not be enuff to tempt anibble
im not sure if theres bait restrictions but you cannt really go wrong with any of these, lug, mack, mussel, (you can deshell these i did the last load for you) sandeel, crab (fresh or frozen, your frozen is in my freezer),squid.
bring a measureing stick just incase
i hope this helps abit, best of luck
