are you on about the white little crabs that you get in the sand and especially under rocks and seaweed atc,,,if so i heard thery are supposed to be deadly ,,,,flats love them

you know the little feckers that like to take the bait of your hook
them lads think they are called sand crab anyway they are kinda a sandy colour too

we get light coloured swimmers about two inch across all over the wicklow strands hard a nails and fleece your bait in minutes used them several times and never had a touch on em ,maybe if you kept them for wrasse fishing the movement would induce a take :?:
i,ve never seen one in a fish or thrown up by a fish only juvenile shore crab and hermits :wink:

just re read my post and think it's worth mentioning that was the one and only time we ever saw those sand crab. far from a regular occurance just in case it might lead anyone to head out with a load of them as bait expecting to bag up on codling :shock: . just happened to be the case on that particular night in those particular conditions :P :D
