just wondering how many people have caught fish over 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50lb from irish strands,piers rockmarks???

I was fishing from fenit when a friend caught a conger over 20 lbs also in fenit I saw some one else catch a skate - it literally covered the boot of his car

was gonna ask this as well lol.
i want to try for something half decent this year. but not sure where my best bet would be.
seen a bloke catch a seal once at waterfoot pier im sure it weighed a bit!!!

a 54lb tope from ballygannon+ 2 in the low 40's > 42+46lb..

biggest fish to date;2 huss at 10lb,congers from 10-31lb all from the shore.if you want biggies put the hours in and loads of research

What time of year did you get the tope? And more to the point.......Where's Ballygannon?
Just out of curiosity, has anyone had any decent Smoothounds? Nothing over 10lb yet, but this year I'm gonna have a big Foreign Office Conger and double figure Ray (plus one of them there Tope!)

plenty of hus over 10lbs my best was 3 over 10 one october night can remebrer my bigist huss think it was like 14 or so and my bigist conger was 16 all cought from the slipway in salthill a few huss from the back of seapoint iv lost biger fish in other locations but my bigest shore fish was a 20 lbs conger oprox in spiddle my bigist overall fish was 100lbs blue taken in cork from a boat all other locations are galway

:D :D I once had a seal follow a kilty catcher in when I was fishing for Bass. They bow wave off this thing coming at me was huge. I nearly sh!t myself. He turned with about 15 yards to go...... I reckon I would have got some fight. :shock: :shock:

seagull > ballygannon is the rocky area south of greystones beach, iv seen tope all along this sretch right up to the gate at kilcoole, the big females normally arrive late sept and are caught up to jan&feb..
