fish of the boat down there each year ,usually around september though .
only spot we would fish is under the white beacon at the entrance to the bay . plenty of mackerel and pollack ,no bass but the place looks perfect for them .
The beacon can be found by following the main road through baltimore after around a mile you get to the end of the road and a small car park . you can walk over the top of the cliffs to the beacon itself and scramble down the other side to the rocks ,theres a couple of good gullies cutting back into the hill side .
Good luck and dont forget to post a report on how you get on .

There are a good few places for spinning as you head out towards the beacon, although Baltimore is not known for its shore angling, since the vast majority of serious angling there is done in boats (very good for boat fishing).
One of my all-time favourite fishing spots is just outside Baltimore, called Lough Ine (also spelled Lough Hyne). It is a unique saltwater lake, which has its own tidal system due to underwater tunnels which sometimes flow into the lake, and sometimes flow out.
Lough Ine is well known by marine biologists who are always studying it and the life there, and it is extremely deep. You can sit in a forest, apparently fishing in a regular fresh water lake, then catch a big conger or something. I've heard some people report some unusual catches there too, like trigger fish.
If you're spinning, the best place to go is near the rapids where theres plenty of mackerel and pollack etc., but you can get these anywhere in the bay so why waste your day at Lough Ine spinning? :)
