OK everyone, I am trying to get rid of My first boat. I say get rid of because With the coming winter and end of the season I simply do not have room for two boats. The boat is on a trailer and I am willing to let it go for buttons. The engine is virtuly new and 60 HP and so I will be removing this for sale for €4000. It was bought new 2 seasons ago for €6500! The boat has a little damage to the hull that i have a quote for this already for €1000 to be repaired. It is a Shetland 535. 17.5 ft long and a very fast boat! The hull damage is very minor and I have been assured that it is not a big deal to be repaired by professionals. I simply do not have room for it and am litterally giving it away! I have nothing to gain and no reason to lie. Does anyone have a home for her? Offers like this don't come along every day... Any takers?

Hi Luke
What are you looking for price-wise?
How old/new is the trailer? Galvanised? Oars?
C'mon man, give us a full rundown, even a picture!
I might be interested (if I can sneak a 17.5 foot boat and trailer past the wife!)
Cheers

The boat is free! This is not a joke! Nor is it some sort of scheme... I simply do not have room for it. The damage is a hairline crack that is not caused by osmosis or anything like that. I always wanted the type of boat i have now and saw an excellent deal and off i went and bought her. I got a 90 HP engine on the boat that is in excellent working order and now need to get rid of this one as I simply do not have the room! I am haveing torouble finding a winter home for my new boat as it is! The boat I simply need to get rid of but the engine I bought new and is worth more than €4000. The trailer I am giving away is not galvanised as it is the Trailer i got with 'Dirty Fecker II'. My origional trailer was actually built by my father who at the time had a Norman 20... This is the boat i now have and thus am using that trailer... The trailer I am giving away is also home made by some mad lunatic that must have used Half the irish steel industy to build it. It is a big heavy mother of a trailer that is by no means rusty! I towed 'fecker II' from Kerry on the thing! And the guy who bought it fisrt towed it from Limerick to Kerry on it! Anyone can take the whole lot for €4000 or else I can take the engine off and give it away for free. Make no mistake, the boat needs a slight repair that is quite fixable and is by no means worthless, I just do not have the time or the space and need to get rid of it. The boat has full steering and Nav lights, Rod holders and cusions, Deck lights, and anchoring hatch. Also i have ducted all the cables and hidden them behind Cockpit carpet which was filled in behind with Liquid foam. This would make the boat unsinkable should the worst ever happen at sea  I did remove my electronics for my new boat and the rear rod holders but these can be replaced for about €12 from veals. I will mail a few pics tomorrow of the boat for you to look at or put up on the site or whatever.

I sent some pics to your Email address Kieran. Have a look and see what you think. I am going away on holiday for two weeks on Monday so will not be around. This should give you time to think. Then when you are in Dublin you can come over and have a look if you are interested. I will be logged onto the forum all day today if you want to discuss it...

Obviously it would be easier for me to sell the engine on the boat as it is a lot less hassle but the engine is worth that money on its own. The 60 HP would be no use on the Norman. It would be too uneconomical to run and would only run the engine into the ground. The Fecker 1 has enormous power with the 60 HP on it. This boat woud run well with a 40 hp on her or even a 30 hp depending where you wanted to fish. With the 60 HP she is the most economical boat i've seen often getting over a mile to the litre. Now thats 2 stroke economy! I was going to hang onto the engine for a rainy day on my new boat but it really would'nt suit it in the sea and the distances I travel. The years would just pile up on it and then try explaining to a buyer it was only used for 1.5 seasons when its 6 years old or something and you want €4000! He would not beleive you and tell you where to go! Kieran, if you could put links up to the pics on this thread that would be great. If nobody takes up this boat I will be dumbstruck!

Luke,
Just in case Kieran is Busy today if you mail the pics to me I will post them here for you straight away. Fair play to you mate for offering your boat for free :) I would be tempted but I already have a 19ft lake boat in the driveway that the missus is hasseling me about so I would be packing if I brought home another.
Later,
Kev

Thankyou for doing that. The pics help a bit.
In the interest of fairness, I just want everyone to know that Although I am giving the boat away. It is first come first serve. It is a lot less hassle for me to leave the engine on and sell the engine with the boat attached (bargain) . So if anyone wants the whole lot they will get priority. This is an excellent engine and a great starter boat. Caught many a fine fish on her out at sea.
