Loose spigot

Don't know the correct terms but what i call the spigot connection on one of my rods is getting a bit loose. Is there anything that can be done for this.

FMCN try rubbing a candle over the male (solid) side of the spigot joint to build up a coating of wax - this should then tighten the joint up once connected - unless it is very loose then graphite spray or the likes is your best bet.

No not very loose so i will try the wax, but the graphite spray sounds good. I was wondering if you get something like this. Do you know a supplier.

Just a salient point, if you do use the graphite spray to build up the spigot, spray it on very evenly, and a thin layer will do, and leave it overnight before putting the rod together, if its not 100% dry you will need a hacksaw to get the rod apart.

lad on the beach on sat night lost the top of his tip tornado ,he cast out and the top half of the rod went awol unfortunatly the surf was full of weed and due to the amount of this the rod caught in his 15 lb line snapped by by 1/2 his rod , get that spray and use it , the poor fella looked like someone had passed away realy felt sorry for him

A tip from the fly anglers who make many more casts (than beachcasters) during a days fishing and find that sometimes a rod section works loos....they put a couple of wraps of electricians tape around a fixed joint to stop it coming apart in use.

Yeah the same thing has happened me but i was lucky enough to get the tip section back! I always have tape in my tackle box now it comes in real handy especially for situations like that!
