Might be because they were kept in the dark since you got them, put them somewhere that they can absorb some light for a day or so and they may glow in the dark again.

yip, probably just need a charge of light. half an hour under a lamp should do the trick, or leave them sitting out the day before you go fishing (if you are lucky to know that far in advance !!)

yip, being do, still they do not glow.
they are just that funny colour of pink, maybe I should not have keep them with the red tails????
ah, hang on a min!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the glow in the dark squid still glow and they have been in the same box as the other ones for about two years:
still can't fig the colour change.
I have heard of some eels / jelly worms rot, fall apart if stored in day light
don't know....................................

some plastics do not react well to being in contact with other plastics. They tend to go to jelly, or the colour runs. I found this out the hard way (over 1000 black firetails with balck and pink tails , where the black ran into the pink).
Also, some plastics don't react well when they come into contact with paper - sounds stoopid, bit is true, makes them go gooey too.
Best to keep them in the bag they came in .
