Newbie

Hi all, have been lurking on here for a while and quite interested in getting a bit more into sea fishing. Do a lot of coarse and fly fishing.

Now looking for somewhere in the Dublin area for a spot of fishing on wednesday probably some plugging or lure fishing, as i have a decent 2 1/4 lb carp rod and a cheap beachcaster I reckon the carp rod would probably be the best bet. also have a decent fixed spool reel with 15 lb line on so that should be pretty o.k ? like the idea of lead heads but never used them before so any advice welcome.

So any suggestions ?

Try Red Rock Sutton you can read reports/advice about this place all over the forum. Quite popular for spinning/plugging although best time is low tide and Wednesdays is at 12.20 pm so if you going in the evening you'll probably have trouble with weed. Another spot is just down. from the sands hotel portmarnock about 100 yards right of the swimming platform, theres steps close by. both marks are known to offer bass.
