Gozer do you want to re-ring the rod or just place on a new tip ring? best way is to file the very top of the rod to make it even. make sure there are no splits/ cracks from the breakage running down the tip. when it has been filed flat get a tip ring of the right diameter (get a fuji so as to match the others!). use HOT MELT GUE to put the ring back onto the rod. u will get this in the hardware store. cut a few pieces off and push them into the tip ring. heat with a lighter until the glue starts to melt and then push the ring onto the rod tip. hold in place and allow to cool. good as new. use as fine a file as you can, or fine sand paper would be just as good. DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE! it can eat through a good blank, resulting in another break! i have learned the hard way........

Repairing rod tips

Just bring your rod into any tackle shop and buy a rod tip just too big to fit over the break. Sand down the broken section with fine sand paper till the tip just about fits on. Apply super glue to the broken section. Heat the new tip over a naked flame to expand it slightly and then slot it onto the rod being careful of the orientation. You will only have a couple of seconds to align it with the lower rings. I have had to repair 2 rod tips that had the car door closed on them.

hey there MB3. you just beat me too it.

Gozer,
If you still have the section that broke off, try this way :

Get a small a bit of a Blank ( slighly thinner diameter of the broken section ). Try to slide this up from the bottom of that section until it comes out at the break. Slide on the broken section to the bit that comes out. You might need to slightly sand the othr blank section until you get a good tight fit.
Get some Two part e-poxy(most hardwware store should have).Once you have mixed the e-poxy remove the blank section from the rod and apply a coat of the e-poxy.Then slide the blank back up using something to push up behins it to ensure a tight fit.Slide on your top section and wip away any e-poxy that has come through the break.Leave for a while to dry and then you wrap a smiliar color thread to the thread on you ring around the break and apply another coat of e-poxy to the thread.
If the blank is a smiliar to the one used by your rod, the action should be very similiar.

Hope this helps,
