IDPearl,
Just read the auction you've won. Seller sez he'll post to UK only, and I see you're in Dublin.
If the seller gets shirty and you need a UK addy to take delivery, drop me a line. He can send it to me in London and I'll forward it on to you.
Mind you, lots of folks in England think Dublin is still part of the UK, so you might be alright there!

No problem posting to Dub, but thanks very much for your offer. I think they have an option to click when they place the advert and they take the easy option. At the end of the day, the only difference is a bit more postage, which I'm going to pay anyway.
The seller mailed me yesterday and the 1st class postage is £8.00, so it's still a good buy for a total of £78! I wonder if they actually put my reel on a first class seat and give it breakfast with a real plate and metal knife and fork?
I bought a Daiwa SL30SH last week of another e-bayer in UK saying the same thing about UK postage only and she had no difficulty in posting to Ireland. I used to live in Malaysia and found the same thing with postage from UK. Strangely enough, the postage to Ireland is almost the same as postage to Malaysia! :?

It's very common on ebay that people click the "only ship to UK" or "only ship to USA" button. I've found that 9 out of 10 times if you email the vender they will ship abroad as long an you pay the cost. Exceptions tend to be where the vender specifically say in the item description that they don't ship abroad and it's usually from the US due to hassel with customs.
Congrats on the bargain Ian, I've bought 5 reels this year on ebay, all in excellent condition, unfortunately one of them is already at the bottom of a lake as it fell off the boat  :(
