Does Braid Colour Matter????

#1 Post by validoc »

hi,
im just about to load up a new lure reel with braid and am looking opinions as to whether braid colour matters or not. in the past ive always played fairly safe with either clear/white or dark green when lure fishing but theres an increasing amount of brighter colours available (particularly orange and blue). Ive used bright coloured mono on the beach gear for years and it hasnt affected my catch rate (i think).

The invisibility properties of various colours of mono underwater are well documented but for braid is it the same??

I like the idea of being able to see the line as it enters the water so i can steer lures close to or away from kelp, rocks etc. and normally use either a fluoro or mono leader but would probably connect the braid straight to the lure if i could get away with it

any thoughts :?:
