Introduction - Co. Leitrim

Leitrim suffers from the reputations of its neighbours.  To the north lies Donegal, the unspoilt fisherman's haven harbouring incredibly shore marks like St. John's point and the Blue Fin Tuna exploits of its charter skippers. To the south lies Sligo, wonderful beaches and amazing shore marks with tope in abundance in the summer, and big fish chartering available out of several harbours.  Poor old Leitrim by contrast is the very poor relative...

Leitrim offers no more than a thin strip od coastline; we were unable to locate any charter boats at all there.
