Here's
Cormac Dalton with a very nice inshore Pollack from near the lighthouse
at Culoo on Valentia Island in Co. Kerry in June 2004. A 250 gram
leadhead lure was the successful ploy, and he had a shore specimen fish
of 4 kilos (9 lbs) also.
|
Steve Turner from Galway wrestling with a nice 6 kilo (15 lb) Conger Eel from Little Killary taken using half a mackerel on light tackle. The 50 lb wire trace was bitten off just after the fish was landed...

This is Conor Hamilton's Dad (clearly a fishing family) with a fine Pollack from behind Tory Island, taken on a standard leadhead baited with a mackerel strip (belly). July 2004.

July Prizewinner! The most famous Tope of 2004, taken by Luke Scully with a little help from the RNLI off Greystones on a Mackerel flapper. Returned July 2004. Well done Luke.

Luke,
you're in trouble! Here is Brian Smith and Jeff Franks from the UK
and Northern Spain over for a week's fishing with Mary Gavin-Hughes... and a
previously untagged Common Skate, estimated at c. 175 lbs (75 kgs),
returned to Clew Bay.
|
Ok, so
how many of you would catch a fine Turbot and then put it back?
Its that man Brian again from the same trip with a lovely Turbot, taken
off the sands in Clew Bay. And no, neither he nor the skipper is
giving out the GPS coordinates!
