Adam
Shannon and his dad did a spot of fishing down in Kerry this
summer. Here is a first for the gallery, a spurdog weighing just
over 15 lb (6 kilos) taken by Adam on Danny McCathy's boat in Brandon
Bay on a running leger holding a mackerel flapper. July 2004.

As promised, here is Adam's dad, Declan with a fine shore caught 9lb 6 oz (4 kilo) Thornback Ray from the Dingle penninsula, taken on a pulley rig loaded with sandeel, tipped with squid and scented with a fish oil. Several more rays were caught and released. July 2004

Prizewinner!
On board Sean McKay's boat,
Fred Roe from Fleetwood took this superb 12 kilo (26 lb) Blonde Ray from out of
Ballycastle Bay using a mackerel flapper on a flowing trace. 9th

For
those Cork anglers out there, here is a specimen Bull Huss, estimated at
5-7 kilos (12-15 lbs) taken from a shrimping drop net on a boat by
Trevor Thomas off Castletownshed in Cork, June 2004. Can you imagine
what that would have done on a rod and line?
