Waterford Meet 07

Postby Mr_Green » Tue Apr 17, 2007 8:47 pm

Alright lads

Waterford 07... Thinkin most of the boys wanna hit Clonea, is there any other suggestions for marks?

Im struggling making a date because i want to go by the moon, ive fished clonea and i know the moon makes a hell of a difference... heres the craic

May
Full moon-Wednesday 2nd LT 00:20 HT 06:22 LT 12:38 HT 18:37

June
Full Moon-Saturday 30th LT 00:06 HT 06:07 LT 12:24 HT 18:30

At least the 30th of june is on a weekend, and lads may have a better chance of getting off work... The moon is perfect for this and the tides look good, they arent massive tides but they are grand...

Any Ideas?

Well up for either date Dave but the only thing is during the summer this is an extremely popular beach for families and swimming etc - might be a bit dodgy if a horde of anglers were to turn up -

Would depend on where u were to fish. Main beach would more than likely be out during the day.
Shanleys would be quiet enough as not too many know about it or how to even get there.

How about doing a spot of wading/lure fishing on the cunnigar during the day at LW and then onto Clonea (or possibly Ballymacart/Ballyquin) for late evening and into the night.

I'm sure cortaz could put us on a quieter mark. That first weekend in june is the bank holiday, if that makes any difference. The full moon is on 1st June.

Dont think so Jonathon?? Isnt it the last week in June (30th) from daves post that he is on about?

Would go with whatever Art says for the mark 8) and time 8)

Yeah, I didn't read his post properly. But the June bank holiday might be another option, with the full moon on the 1st June. Unless Dave has a prior engagement :D

Suppose I should have spotted that. Time for bed I think. My vote is for end of June. More fish.

the plan was for the 30th june... but i recknon it may be best to tie it in with saisac... to save lads having to come down twice...i had already thought of that...

It is a New Moon on the 16th as well as being the day after the ban ends. GADSAC are travelling South as well to fish a comp with SAISAC in Clonea from 3.30 to 8.30 (provisional times), with a meet up on the Cunnigar for the 17th
