folks ,

Looking for a Wide angle lens for Nikon D40x ..

Mac / Bradan you were discussing some a while back .. any advice

Any sample pics also appreciated ...

I have a Tamron w/a in the bag most of the time. Its not as good as a Nikon lens but it is about 1/10th of the price while about 8.10ths of the quality. This won't work with AF on the D40x though.

I picked mine up over in Austria but I'm sure you could find one on ebay.

A cheaper option might be to try a wide angle converter. They go on over the standard lens and give you an extra little bit of wide angle without breaking the bank. Another nice feature is that you can still use the automatic focus and VR that comes with the kit lens.
