Agree with you on the turnout front Paul, I dont think the fact it was a Bank Hol weekend helped matters. I did raise the point at the AGM that majority of comps are held on Sundays and all ours last year were on Saturdays which to be fair was taken on board to a certain extent. Not sure about the choice of venue either given some of the more exciting spots around that area but thats just my opinion (so please dont take offence lads! :D )

No offence taken at all Pete...... I suppose when choosing a venue we need to try find one that will hold a good few anglers just in case? Given the time of year, I think the estuary was the only choice. Now in a few months time....... I think the choices are many. If you have a spot that will hold about 10 - 12 guys and can fish really well at a particular time of the year, please PM or post here and I will keep it in mind for sure. I would love to get a comp on one of the Beach/rock marks in the area, at a good time of the year.

will agree to that my first thorny ever - caught at 2am. High water was 10:15pm
