#1 Post by stevecrow74 »

People:me and nige

Duration:24 hours (camping and sleep included)

Tide:rising- falling and falling (slept through 2nd rising)

Weather:mostly clear with showers, light wind to windy

Bait:sandeel, mack and lug

Rigs:all

Results:
me: 5 thornback ray and 3 doggies
nige: 3 thornback ray and a dab

some pics in my gallery

Report:
fished college strand first and caught a thornie and a doggie, nige caught a dab, on the rising tide.
moved to carrigaholt beach on falling tide and caught 2 thornbacks and 2 doggies, nige caught his first ever thornie (51cm wingspan) at 2am.
next day: fished carrigaholt beach, falling tide, nige caught 2 thornies and so did I

came up with some interesting uses for a bait needle...
saw a thornie swimming at the surface about 20 ft away, one we didnt catch...
saw two dolphins swimming around the pier on the 3rd in the evening, right beside the dolphin observing boat which was moored(saved some money there).

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
