People: myself and shamoo

Duration: 6 - 10.30

Tide: ht 10pm

Weather: rain

Bait: rag and mack

Rigs: 1 hook pat, 2 hook flapper

Results: dogs, whiting, dab, tompot blenny, corkwing wrasse, lobster and a hermit crab!

Report: went down knowing i would get something but was not expecting this session - it was constant until about 9.30 - in close and out far

the first cast produced a whiting - then the dogs took over at distance - had the other rod in close that was picking up crab bites but then got a dog there too

more whiting more dogs - then a dab showed up

inclose i knew i had somthing on - a lobster - no great size but first time i got one of them

next cast on the small rod a corkwing wrasse - beautiful colouration

then a tompot blenny

out far the dogs and whiting kept showing

mark had a dab first cast then had another and things went queit for him

he eventually got a whiting - then had a few more and dog or 2 eventually showed for him - he also brought in a hermit crab!!!

i got another tompot - having great craic in close!

then as the tide got near the top - the weed came into play - started losing hooks and rigs/weights

the fishing slowed - there was still the odd dog or whiting showing

the weed got worse on HT

but we hung on for a bit of the darkness - the catch rate didnt improve greatly

i was soaked to the bone - so packed it in at 10.30

its been a long time since i got over 20 fish in a session - good to get a few new species in

and all that on a week night - down the road - and people go on and on about amazing marks down the country - why bother!!!
