Fibreglass boat repairs

Postby Caz-Galway » Wed Jul 13, 2022 9:47 am

Hi All,

I have a few dings and self fixed cracks in an Orkney longliner that I got recently. Nothing terrible but Id like to get it fixed professionally. Can anyone recommend a good fibreglass repairer who might do a proper professional job in the off season?

Thanks

Caz

Little dings in gelcoat can be fixed with a Gelcoat repair kit. A good panel beater will do a good job too. Other than that you'd have to suss and fibreglass specialists in your area.

Thanks as always Jim. Looks like they do nice work. The only one in my area of the west was Burke boats in Ballinrobe but they are closed now.
If anyone knows of someone in Galway, Mayo, Clare or Westmeath Region please let me know.

Thanks

Hi Caz,

Sorry about trying to reach you through this. I stumbled on an old post where you mentioned you worked on the ragworm farm at Cape Clear. Would love to more about it. I'm doing a Ph.D. on ragworm at the University in Galway. I have notions of setting up a ragworm farm. 0894180648. mullr@hotmail.com. Maybe I can succeed where others have failed. Free rag for life if I do.
