Were they catching them with feathers or floats? Mad catching them off howth pier at this time of year.

Try a float set near the bottom,use squid it’ll survive the pin whiting attacking it ,always a few big hanging around late ,I’ve had mackerel off skerries this time of year .or you could just bottom fish them whatever is easier
