Hi all. I have recently purchased my first boat and for the last few months have been on this excellent forum picking up valuable advise on all things angling. I am still quite nervous on the water so have barely ventured beyond the Roches Point lighthouse. Hoping that the weather will be a bit kinder next year!
I have a 10kg Danforth anchor which I find quite heavy when hauling off the bottom. My question is would I be better off with a lighter anchor for around the harbour(and possibly a few miles beyond in time)? Also is it possible to anchor on the harbour rock or any rocky bottom without the risk of the anchor getting stuck? I am worried that I might get into trouble! Thanks in advance. Boat is a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 635
