Out on a comp on Sat stopped for a few dips out side the harbour on the way to the lings no mackerel caught.
Did run into them on the lings when we didn't need them had to move to get away from them.

Out yesterday for a few hours R&R had a set of bullseye rig out all day fishing at different depths not a sign of a mackerel

Fishing outside Carlingford Lough yesterday (Tuesday 26th June). Over 6 hrs with feathers constantly in water, only 1 mackerel which came from a popular tope mark (3 other boats there) and it came to a retrieved coalfish strip, not feathers.

Just over 100 mackerel caught yesterday to 2 rods in 4 hours just east of the Skeird Rocks in Connemara. No birds about and they were full of small sandeel and mixed with pollack (1-3lb).

Had about 30 around Irelands Eye off Howth last week ...needed for bait for tope. Fished 3 hours yesterday same area and only had 2. Plenty of Porpoises around Howth yesterday and lots of lads fishing off rocks at Balscadden but no sign of macks being caught.

Fished for shark over the weekend, and plenty of mackerel when we stopped off Aranmor, in the middle of Galway Bay. Oddly enough we were catching them at all depths, from around 15ft down to the bottom around 90ft.
