SCI Results 23rd sept (Pics Added - Dial up warning)

Postby paddyc » Mon Sep 24, 2007 12:03 pm

Well after some time waiting to secure a venue we got off to a great start, it all kicked off very well with the exception of the rain putting in an early appearance but the day did get better as it progressed, conditions were by no means favourable with a 15mph side-wind that to be honest didnt know what direction it wanted to blow come the afternoon and at times gusting to 25mph, with the field the way it was we were limited to the direction we could have the court but we made the most of our day none the less, with 10-casters in attendance from as far as waterford, a great day was had and some PBs put down in the process and of corse the crack was mighty. The results are as follows:

Sportscast Ireland/1st meet/ 23rd Sept/ Fairyhouse rececorse

150G-----------Style-------------------------------
J. Keenan--------P--------155.00
S.Byrne----------P--------207.20-PB
J.Henry-----------P--------202.00
P.Cunningham---P--------190.52
A.Gormley-------P--------225.05
P.Mason----------P--------192.30 (Fixed Spool)
K.McKlean--------P--------161.10
F.Kavanagh-----OTG------126.70-PB

-------------------------------------------------------

125G----------Style---------------------------------
K.Stafford------P--------175.94
P.Power---------P-------143.80-PB
-------------------------------------------------------
All distances in metres.

I would like to thank all the members who turned out for our 1st meet
especially Stephen(caster of the day)Byrne who has not cast on a court in some years yet managed a Personal Best in such bad comditions, to Andrew and John for there hard work in making a fantastic court for the club and to Keith for all his work both organising the club and running this event with me. We will have a date for the next meet very soon and will post it up.
Cheers Paddy.

And there off...... Congrats boys on getting things going. Well done to all who attended, some good casting considering the conditions you described.

Look forward to joining you all down there at some stage.

Ya..
I hope they climb for me anyway.
I started with the cast I use for fishing. Its kinda a mix between an OTG and a flat pendulum which got me the Pb. I peppered the 140 meter mark with it and then with help from the lads I try ed a full pendulum. Was a bag of nerves and need some practice at it for the next meet but hope to get up in the upper 150's.
If I can add a few meters each meet Ill be a happy camper.

Thanks again for all the help on the day. Looking forward to the next one.
