Can't help you on the where to stay front but Ballybrannigan is a typical East Cork Beach. A fairly shallow surf beach that can throw up good bags in the right conditions. We are fishing it during the day which is a bit of a disadvantage but hopefully, as the tides seem to suit that we will be ok. Species present- Bass, Probably coalies too by then, LSDs, Flounder, there is a resident population of codling there too but you will need to welly a crab bait out to pick those up. Not huge amounts of flounder to be had although they are there. Probably more than in Clonea though.... Lots of features on this beach like gullies, patches of reefy ground etc to keep your eye out for. Be warned, this can be no place for one and two ounce rolling leads, depending on where you are situated and tidal conditions, there can be vicious rip currents in parts of the beach, particularly in close. Not overly familiar with it as havent fished it that often, maybe a half dozen times. Be prepared for weed as it can gather following certain weather conditions. Long rod, strong line if thats the case. It should throw up a few fish, its unfortunate we couldn't fish Garretstown but this being a popular beach we couldnt fish it during the day when tides suited, evening comp would have us following the tide all the way down which wouldn't suit at all.

Ballycotton (Boyceland) is a 10 minute spin away
Midleton is a 15 minute spin away

When the mods set this up in the proper format I'll post up a map and a turn by turn driving instructions

In the mean time one for Steve 51.48.274 08.08.188
