hey paul paddy spoke to me on this only last week . there will of course be fixed spool event. with the popularity of the long rod and fixed spool bieng so popular it would be foolish not to . the only thing is no braid is allowed this is a rule on every casting court. but with the rule change in the line diameter for the 100 gram lead down to .25 mm some big distances are sure to be scored.

Whats 100gram in pounds shillings and pence and whats .25mm in breaking strain I'm a long time out of casting and cant remember. I had an idea braid would not be allowed however I'm sure i have mono somewhere, by the way what mono are the lads using now is it just cheap s*** or are they using quality line.

100 gram dosent match a oz's rating. .25 line can be a few different breaking strains. it depends on the manufacturer and quality. i use berkley 8lb i think.

The Tournament Gold you got from me is 0.32 at 12lb, I can get the same stuff in 0.25 = about 8lb test.

Cant tell you abt the line but there are 28grms in an ounce.
