Any advice on using braid for beachcasting fixed spool, or should i stay with mono.

The issues with braid do not relate to the reel but to where and how you use it.

It works fine off spinning reels but is probably more associated with multipliers for boat fishing.
It works fine on bait-caster reels too.

Mono is tougher, cheaper, and wont slice up a finger.
Braid is more brittle, expensive and under pressure will slice up virtually anything (even bait!).
When I say brittle, I mean that braid wears faster over rocks and rough terrain, so it is not recommended for rock marks.
Braid is ideal for lure fishing and surf fishing on clean beaches. Mixed ground, it's again not so good...
Braid casts a lot farther owing to its far smaller diameter compared with mono.
Braid and mono both deteriorate in sunlight and should be stored in the dark.
Hope this helps, I am sure others can add other pros and cons...
