I bought a akios 100ld and got hybrid ceramic bearings + magged by jamie in PMR . best reel ive ever owned by far. Its easy to service . smooth like butter and it just feels incredibly built. Im considering buing the 120ld. they are boat reels but with the mags installed are great for the beach.

Just recently got an Akios Fireloop , very tough , very smooth, excellent casting and retrieve. Line lay is perfect every time, it's improved my distance casting considerably, although I haven't put it to the test yet, in terms of beach casting. Great value.

Quality reels no doubt just cannot abide the blatant copying of Abu's style.

I think Akios's owner/founder is a former Abu Garcia employee?

Got a akios airloop r10 three weeks ago. Brilliant reel loving it line lay is perfect smooth retrieve and spare spool which is very handy. Has added to my distance considerably would defo recommend it!! Also yes the guy who created akios worked for Abu for 17years as a chief designer so when he was made redundant he went out and made his own not anything since he worked there for so long am delighted they Collier Abu brilliant reels. Also little extra point. Akios Japanese for "new beginnings"

I got an airloop a few months ago. Used maybe 6 times for shore fishing. Last Friday I was wading out to cast and the line started coming off the rod. Waded back to shore and found the anti reverse was not working. I couldn't get it to switch off and had to borrow a reel from one of the lads to finish the session. Not too impressed at the moment. It's back in the shop waiting for the rep to collect it so we will see what happpens

What's the Japanese for copyright infringement?

A quick update. The rep has replaced my Scora with a brand new R8 so big thumbs up for the customer service. Shop contacted me today to say it's ready for collection. Very happy with that.
