Hit a mark that has produced nice whiting last year for me so fished for two hours, mackerel as bait.
Two three hook flappers hit the water at 10pm a cold night with a strong tidal run. Had a few nibbles but no bits registering, crabs were kept fed. Decided to crack one in half that made it ashore and elasticated it's insides around one of the hooks, this surprising enough caught my first small whiting of the night. Had 6 small whiting around 20cm and the biggest three were 28cm,30cm and 30cm. Ended the night with a lonesome coalie. Good to get out for the start of a hopefully productive year
