Fixed Spool and Spinning Reels

Postby wes77 » Sat Mar 26, 2016 7:46 pm

Hi All,

I am only venturing back into fishing after over 10 years and I was looking to buy some new reels. I have a 12ft pier rod and a 10ft spinning rod. I think the cost me 80 at the time years ago. What fixed spool and spinning reels would you recommend for starting back out but which will last?

Shimano exage 4000 size for spinning will last forever once you rinse it with fresh water after every trip.

Shimano hyperloop 6000 is a good quality reel that is more suitable for pier and light beach fishing if that's your main use; but could be used as spinning reel for occasional session. Should pick one up for 40 euros.
