can anybody recommend a good quality lever drag reel with level wind ? something in or around 100-120 . the best ive found so far is a Rovex one but to be honest im not a fan of that particular brand as ive had problems with their reels in the past.

Shimano Charter Special is a good reel. The retrieve is a little slow for deep water work, but they're good value for money.

Have a couple of charter specials they are not as robust as the Penn's. I use a Penn 320 LD very solid reel. They have to put up with abuse as I am very lazy when it comes to servicing. :D

New Penn's in that price range are made in China I was told and are simply not as solid as the previous models. I recently bought an Okuma levelwind which so far does the trick. I'm currently in the market for some 80lb standup kit and looking at Okuma for the reels as well...

your correct Yappo but as long as you dont fill it to the outer guide ring on the spool with braid there should be no issues!
