Fiiish Crazy Sandeel

Just got my new toy yesterday, been waiting a while. Fiiish Crazy Sandeel cant wait to try them out this week, the tail action looks incredible!

If they do as well as the Minnow they'll be great.
I must say I am not very excited about the eel - Is it because it looks like so many other eels out there? It just doesn't do it for me...

I looked at em but opted for the Illex Juno Eel. Very impressive looking, esp for early season. Long slim sandeel immitation.
Nice small paddle tail to give some action but not too much.

I guess the proof will be in the pudding, i will give them a good amount of water time this season and see how they go. Starting this week, i will let ye all know how they go. Thanks lads.

compared to the €9.90 for the Crazy Sandeel.

To be fair the sg sandeel is a great lure great price lovely action

I love SG sandeel's and I will certainly buy some of the Crazy Sandeel. I seen some clips on youtube and they look pretty good on a fast retrieve, ideal for a couple of rocky marks I fish. Had good success with the Red Gill Evo last year, a lure I didn't like when I first seen it, but it proved me wrong on a number of occasions.

Indeed both the minnow and the eel scored. Pete was also saying that yum lil suzies were doing well too - I reckon anything would have caught on the day.... They came across a shoal of big bass. Some fishing.

Remember the days Pat...... Thirty odd fish on the vertical! Hopefully this year again!

Bloody hell....will we see those days again; its been a few years!!!!

Maybe we should ask Grace O 'Sullivan and Greenpeace to take a look along that coast after they've finished in the med!

I gave it a good test drive Jim and i have to say i am a little dissapointed with the tail action, it takes a relatively fast retrieve to get a decent looking movement from it. The Black Minnow has much better tail movement at lower speed of retrieve. I am not by any means writing it off though as i think when the water warms a little and the fish are more aggressive it will do quite well, especially in the estuaries. Thats where i will be trying it out some more.

I thought same when i saw the testing in the tank. However I do think they have a place. In a strong tide run when you can cast and position the lure as a static target for a bass then could be brilliant. For example a dropping tide in an estuary, up tide from a set of rocks or known ambush point, if you cast and allow this lure to move into the required position, close bale arm and allow the lure to remain in the one place while the current imparts slight action to the tail.

I said the minute I saw them if they had a paddle tail, just a small one, even half the size of the SG Sandeel then they would be better.

I think the offshore reference is based on the 20g jig head, i believe the 10g is referred to as the onshore. One positive thing i can say about the 20g on the shoreline is that it casts quite well and i think i would prefer the 20g to the 10g on the shore for that very reason. Mind you i havnt actually gotten my hands on the 10g yet so i may be a tad premature with that assessment.
