Weedless hooks.

Postby hurler01 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 10:25 pm

Does anyone have any ideas on the use of weedless hooks and their effectiveness with fly fishing over rough ground and say the likes of lillypads? Do people consider hook ups compromised?
What does anyone consider the best design for the weedless hook?

Hi Hurler,

I have tied on weedless hooks before but was never 100% happy with the presentation. I do from time to time use a weed guard created from heavy mono. Other options are to bend the hook slightly, Works ok with mustad 34007 or similar style hooks.

Cheers for that GD. Suppose I'll not go too heavy on the mono as it may affect the hooks ups.
