Report: First trip of the year on the warrior 165 and weather conditons were perfect as we headed off but deteriorated as the day went on. Steamed around for 2 hours looking for mackerel and only getting pollack, coalies, codling, gurnards, and launce for our efforts, had lots of them 2 weeks ago but they have disappeared completely. Headed for the sand and anchored up for a few hours and had some decent dabs and a few small plaice. This spot didn't fish as well as we expected so we upped anchore and steamed to another sandy area a short distance away. Again we picked up dabs and plaice and a few spotted rays but after the first hour things went quite again and with the weather deteriorating we decided to head for home. All in all a good day out and with everything going 100% on boat and engine gives good hope for many more trips this summer. Next trip will be tope fishing on neap tides hopoefully. Photos of a spotted ray and a treble shot of dabs and plaice which made the rod rattle a bit!
