pink rod and reel

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

pink rod and reel

Postby Eoin » Wed Feb 06, 2013 4:14 pm

ok so i am going to bring my daughter bait digging and then fishing this summer. i hope she likes it but to give our sport a sporting chance i am going to get her a pink rod and reel. has anyone else gone down this road? what rod and reel did you get? would you recommend them? the two that stand out are okuma calynn http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251214933358? ... 1423.l2649 and shakesphere lady fish http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251214933358? ... 1423.l2649

just had a quick look on the net and havnt been through the tackle shops yet. looking only at spinning rod for use with light bait fishing in calm clean ground.

Eric Gasparro (username eric) has done a huge amount of subject into this – for HIMSELF.

I know he re-whipped an ian golds match rod in pink thread, and got a pink reel from somewhere. Drop him a pm and he’ll point you in the right direction.

I got this for my 4yo.

Instead of the s*** pink reels, I opted for a red shimano Catana 4000. Bloody great reel for the money, however with hindsight, should have got the 3000.

Eric, aka the 'fishkisser' now is much more interested in the fairer gender as rumor has it, naturally, his first wet romances  and pink gear surely are a thing of the past and he probably might not like it to be reminded of his juvenile sins  so please, do not send him a PM or ask for his advice
