"The following books (All available from Amazon.co.uk) make for interesting if depressing reading on fishery and conservation issues.
The End of the Line: How Overfishing Is Changing the World and What We Eat
Cod: A Biography of the Fish That Changed the World
Empty Ocean
In a Perfect Ocean: The State of Fisheries and Ecosystems in the North Atlantic Ocean
All well worth a read. The most readable is definitely ""The End of the Line"". If you only read one, read that. I can guarantee that you'll come away from it understanding that the plight and future of fish stocks are much, much worse than you could ever have believed possible....."

I've read the first two books on Sandman's list, and they are excellent.
I wasn't aware of the other two, must try and get my hands on copies.
