Leon is right abou bass being a shared resource between the UK and ROI.
Interesting article originally published in the Marine Times (April 2003).

Worth a quick read. It does illustrate why we should be actively supporting bass conservation efforts by joining up and writing to respective governments to promote securing bass stocks via size limits, bag limits and nursery areas etc.
