"Gardai uncover massive overfishing "in every port""

A Gardai investigation has found extensive illegal overfishing in every big Irish harbour along the west coast.

...boats were landing as much as 3 times their quota.

In expectation of the report the government made 45m available earlier this month to decomission a quarter of teh Irish fishing fleet.

Within days of the Garda raids Killlybegs trawlers started landing their catches as far afield as Norway and Scotland."

Just some excerpts lads to highlight what we are up against. Mindblowingly corrupt trawlermen, an inactive Gardai and a pathetic, reactive government!

From reading the article looks to me like our 'fabulously' corrupt government knew about this all along and did absolutely sweet nothing.

Their fabuolos PR move with providing the decommissioning money was simply a get out of jail free card as they knew the boys were about to get busted. What a joke, makes me sick.
