anyone on here have had their 1st bass of 05 yet??? i havnt managed it but i think there have been a good few in the south west,

Had a crack for them up in Greenore and Carlingford last weekend. Total of zero!

how come u hear so much about carlingford and how aare they round at this time of year so far north? i would have thought it would have been the sth west lads who would still have the chance at this time of year

I have to agree with you there Liam. The temp on the east cast is 9C at the moment but 11.5 in the south west. Warmer is better!! -OF Course, there has to be bass in the first place!!!!

i think there is a critical point where they will go off the feed, i think it is a temp of 12 degrees but i am not 100%. neil frankish is the man for that kind of info!

i think they piss off into deeper water, and some reckon that they do in fact go off the feed, in the same way that a good hot sun warming up a beach on an incoming tide will turn them on the feed.

I read somewhere that the critical temp was about 5C - but the mean sea temp seems to be way above that - could it be that the bass stocks are declining even further???

no not the fly it was in a comp and i caught him on rag tip with black lug no joke

ya see i told ya.no sight nor sound of him in the fly fishing section all yr but as soon as a bass off wicklow is mentioned there he is, sniffing around!!!!!!!!!

lots of bass being cought .got 30 inapril best7+lbs all on lugsif u r in waterford anythime ihelp u catch a few
bass cought 12 months of the year around heremany 10lbs +personal best 14lbs
most fishers have cought bass over 10lbs
had 7 dubble shots last summer

whereabout in waterford are you catching tne bass i do a lot of boat fishing out of dunmore east and when the weather is bad i like to shore fish but have never caught a bass down here yet
